Fatal Crash on Braddock Road

Officers responded for a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Braddock Road and Roanoke River Road on Monday, January 20 at 6:04 p.m. An initial investigation revealed, a 2007 Lexus ES430 driven by an 87-year-old man made a left turn in front of a 2002 Lincoln Town Car driven by a 77- year-old man.

Shirley Jane Ferrell, 76, of Prince William Drive was a rear seat passenger in the Town Car and died at the hospital. There was a 13-year-old female passenger in the Town Car. There were two female passengers, 87 and 18 years old, in the Lexus. Both drivers and all passengers were taken to a local hospital.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.

The case is still under investigation.
