- Traffic and crash updates
- Information on significant incidents and investigations
- Community programs and event coverage
- Public awareness and crime prevention campaigns
- Social media, video production, and digital communications
- Executive and organizational communications
In addition to FCPD News, we use social media platforms to share real-time updates, educational content, public safety information, community engagement stories, and behind-the-scenes perspectives on the work of the department.
How We Communicate
The Public Affairs Bureau serves as the department’s primary point of contact for media inquiries and works closely with patrol officers, detectives, specialized units, command staff, and county partners to gather and verify information before it is shared with the public.
Our goal is to provide information that is accurate, timely, and transparent while balancing the need to protect ongoing investigations, victim privacy, and sensitive law enforcement operations.
Through FCPD News, media releases, social media, community outreach, and public events, we strive to keep Fairfax County informed, engaged, and connected to the work of their police department.
