Officers from the Fair Oaks District Station conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, until 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 8. The checkpoint was set up in the northbound lanes of West Ox Road near the intersection of Penderbrook Drive. 605 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Two arrests were made for DWI, two people were charged with possession of marijuana and two traffic summonses were issued.
BURGLARY: 6300 block of Sharps Dr., 11/06/15, 2:21 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ROBBERY: 3400 block of Audubon Ave. 11/06/15, 2:47 p.m. The victim and her two young sons were home when an unknown male entered the home through an unlocked front door, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as being black, 18-20 years old, 6 feet tall, skinny build, with short, black hair. He was wearing a ski mask, a plaid black and gray shirt and blue jeans.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 6600 BLOCK OF Arlington Blvd. 11/06/15, 2:30 p.m. Officers responded to this location for the report of a drunk and disorderly subject. They arrived and encountered Victor Omar Suarez, 19, of 2939 Patrick Henry Dr. Suarez was uncooperative and combative. Officers placed him under arrest. While he was being escorted to the patrol car, Suarez attempted to head butt and expectorate on of the officers; breaking the officer’s eye glasses in the process. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center and was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and destruction of property.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 6011 Burke Ctr. Pwy. 11/07/15, 11:53 p.m. Suspect approached the manager of the Giant Food store, implied a weapon and demanded money. Additional employees became aware of the robbery and intervened, causing the suspect to flee from the store without any money. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black mask, glasses, a black, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
BARRICADE: 5800 block of Chase Commons Ct. 11/08/15, 4:52 a.m. Officers were called to an apartment for a 25-year-old man experiencing emotional distress; allegedly threatening harm to himself and others. A Variety of police assets were sent to the scene. SWAT officers negotiated and were able to successfully convince the man to lay down his weapon and come out. The situation was resolved peacefully and there were no injuries.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 8300 block of Kenwood Ave. 11/06/15, 4:51 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the garage through an open door and removed a bicycle. No suspect information.
