Mason District officers conducted DWI patrols. No arrests were made for DWI. Thirteen traffic summonses were issued, along with 14 warnings.
Officers assigned to the Operations Support Bureau conducted grant funded DWI patrols. Three arrests were made for DWI and 36 traffic summonses were issued.

ARMED ROBBERY: 3600 block of Robert E. Lee Pl. 12/14/15, 12:15 a.m. A 53-year-old man was seated in his car when he was approached by two men; one displayed a handgun, the other a knife. The suspects threatened the victim and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and was not injured. The suspects fled on foot toward Richmond Highway. A K9 team and the police helicopter assisted in the search, but the suspects were not located. Both suspects were described as being black, in their mid-20s. They were both about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 120 to 160 pounds. They were both wearing all black clothing.
ROBBERY/SHOT PERSON: 7900 block of Richmond Hwy. 12/13/15, 5:23 p.m. Officers responded to the Walmart parking lot for the report of a robbery and shooting. The initial investigation suggests that at least some of the parties involved knew each and that they had a pre-arranged meeting; the purpose of which remains unclear at this time. At some point during the meeting, one subject produced a handgun and announced a robbery. Involved parties fled in all directions. One 19-year-old male was shot in the back. He was flown to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation continues.
ROBBERY: 4100 block of Melon St. 12/13/15, 8:30 p.m. A 20-year-old female had just made a pizza delivery and was walking back to her car when she was approached by an unknown man. The suspect pushed the victim’s head against her car and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and sustained minor injuries. The suspect fled toward the Washington Square apartments. A K9 team and the police helicopter responded. The suspect was described as mixed race, about 6 feet tall with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a baggy jacket with buttons on the sleeves, baggy pants and tennis shoes.
BURGLARY: 8400 block of Madge Ln. 12/11/15, 6:06 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: Pimmit Dr. /Idyl Ln. 12/13/15, 9:25 p.m. Patrol officers noticed suspicious activity in and around a pull-behind travel trailer, parked along the side of the road. During the investigation a strong odor of burning marijuana was detected, coming from inside the trailer. Officers asked the occupants to step out and they refused, so the officers made lawful entry into the trailer where they encountered three people. Two of the occupants were cooperative. The third, 24-year-old, Andrew Hoepfl, of Falls Church, allegedly punched and kicked one of the officers several times. The electronic Control Weapon was deployed and Hoepfl was subdued. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of marijuana. Narcotic related evidence was seized from the trailer. The other two occupants were released on criminal summonses, charging them with possession of marijuana.

ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING/ARREST: 3300 block of Glen Carlyn Dr. 12/12/15, 11:53 p.m. A 22-year-old man was walking across Culmore Shopping Center when he was approached by another man who demanded money from him. The victim told the suspect he had no money and the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim and then fled. The victim followed and alerted security. Both parties were still on scene when officers arrived. The suspect, Fredi M. Gomez, 20, of Knollwood Dr. was arrested and charged with attempted robbery and malicious wounding. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: 2400 block of Centreville Rd. 12/12/15, 1:50 a.m. Officers responded to the parking lot of Breakers Billiards for the report of a disorderly crowd of approximately 25 people. As officers arrived, the crowd dispersed, with one exception; 30-year-old, Denetra Antwanette Bryant of Reston, approached and struck an officer. She was arrested and charged with being drunk in public and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

BURGLARY: 12000 block of Newport Rd. 12/11/15, 5:56 p.m. Resident reported that someone entered their garage and removed items from their car.
BURGLARY: 11500 block of Sunrise Valley Dr. 12/12/15, 5:53 a.m. Someone entered the Sonabank but an employee reported that nothing appeared to have been taken.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY: Lorton Rd/Richmond Hwy. 12/12/15, 10:56 p.m. A 25-year-old man was walking away from the 7-11 near Lorton Road when he was approached from behind by two men. The men knocked the victim to the ground, rummaged through his pockets and fled with an unknown amount of cash. The victim self-reported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The suspects were described as black, in their mid-20s. One was 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 130 to 150 pounds. He had black, shoulder length dreadlocks. He was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, black pants and blue sneakers. The second suspect was 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet one inch tall and 150 to 170 pounds. He had short, wavy black hair. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants and blue sneakers.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
UNLAWFUL ENTRY: 8500 block of Oakford Dr. 12/13/15, 3:03 p.m. A resident reported seeing someone in their garage. They yelled out to the subject to get out and he did. Nothing was taken. The suspect was described as a black male in his mid-teens, wearing a blue jacket and dark colored pants. He was carrying a backpack.
