GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Thanks to all of the local kids who sent cards of holiday cheer and gratitude to officers at the Mount Vernon District Station. As police officers, we are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Consequently, we often work holidays when most other folks are home with their families. This little bit of cheer was greatly appreciated and brightened everyone’s day.

COMMERCIAL ARMED ROBBERY: 7100 block of Brookefield Plaza. 1/6/16, 7:48 p.m. An unknown man entered the Shri Krishna grocery store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. No cash was handed over, however, the suspect took other property from the store and fled. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as black, 25 to 30 years old. He was approximately 6 feet tall and about 185 pounds. He was wearing a gray jacket and blue jeans.
BURGLARY: 6500 block of Riefton Ct. 1/6/16, 10:15 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
BURGLARY: 7400 block of Little River Turnpike. 1/6/15, 9:05 p.m. A resident reported that someone entered the residence and took property.
