Mclean District Officers conducted a DWI Enforcement Patrol from 8 p.m. on Friday, March 18 until 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The initiative resulted in one arrest for driving under the influence, 2 narcotics violations, and 17 traffic summonses.
EXPLOSIVE DEVICE, 4200 block of Entre Court, 03/18/16, 9:23 p.m. An employee reported that he heard the sound of glass breaking and observed a small fire. He saw three suspects in the area and provided that information to the responding officer. Two juvenile males and one adult male were found in the area. One juvenile admitted to lighting a candle inside of a bottle and throwing it. The Fire Marshal is continuing the investigation.
RECKLESS DISCHARGE / POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, 14200 block of Suncatcher Court. 03/19/16, 10:15 p.m. Officers received information that a subject accidentally discharged a firearm the night before. Officers spoke with the resident who admitted to the accidental incident. While there, marijuana was seen and seized. The subject was charged with possession of marijuana. The investigation is on-going and charges are pending.

VEHICLE PURSUIT / POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA / DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE: 1800 block of Old Reston Ave. 03/18/16, 10:00 p.m. A police officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Old Reston Ave and Temporary Road. The suspect vehicle continued and finally stopped in the 11600 block of Charter Oak Court. The driver was placed under arrest without incident. William A. Butler, 28, of Reston, was charged with possession of marijuana, disregard police signal to stop, and driving on a suspended license.

PERSON IN EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, 11300 block of Geddys Court. 03/18/16, 9:03 a.m. Officers responded to a call from Adult Protective Services that a man was in crisis. The social worker was at the scene and another resident were escorted out of the house for safety purposes. Officers were initially unable to make contact with the man, but he voluntarily exited the house and was transported for mental health treatment.
BURGLARY, 1700 block of Clubhouse Road. 03/17/16, 10:36 p.m. Police officers responded to a burglar alarm at a business and located a man inside. The suspect fled and was described as 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 130 to 150 pounds, wearing a black shirt, dark pants, black backpack, and black winter cap, inside the business. The business was searched with negative results.

BURGLARY, 4000 block of Nicholas Court. 03/18/16, 11 a.m. A resident reported someone inside their residence when they returned home. The front door was latched but then an unknown male unlatched it and ran out the rear of the residence. The suspect was described as having a slim build with short black hair.
BURGLARY, 4200 block of Ridge Top Road. 03/20/16, 3:27 a.m. An employee reported someone entered the business and took property.
INDECENT EXPOSURE, Post Forest Drive / West Ox Road. 03/20/16, 11:30 a.m. A woman was walking to work when a man exposed himself. The suspect was described as white, 30 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, clean shaven, wearing all black clothing, short running shorts, bright orange running shoes, and black winter cap.

ANIMAL CRUELTY, 9800 block of Sunnybrook Drive. 03/20/16, 11:20 a.m. Animal Control Officers responded for a domestic feline that was found to have been injured. The cat was shot with a pellet gun. The feline was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment and is in stable condition but the prognosis is unknown. The investigation is on-going.
