CHECKPOINT: Richmond Hwy at Mount Eagle, 07/15/16. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Eight hundred and thirty-four vehicles passed through. Two drivers were charged with DWI. Five summonses were issued and two criminal arrests were made.
ATTEMPTED ROBBERY: 6000 block of Centreville Crest Lane, 07/17/16, 9:29 a.m. Two males entered the store and demanded money. One of the suspects assaulted an employee and a physical altercation ensued. The suspects then fled. The victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The first suspect was described as black, 17 to 25 years old, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet 1 inches tall, with a muscular build. He was wearing a blue tank top, white pants, white sneakers, and a white baseball cap. The second suspect was described as black, 18 to 25 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white shirt, had dreadlocks, and he was carrying a backpack.

Local Doctor Charged with Sexual Battery
STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERY: 2500 block of Windbreak Drive, 07/15/16, 11:55 a.m. An officer observed a moped being operated with equipment violations. The officer attempted a traffic stop but the operator and passenger discarded the moped and fled on foot. Both suspects were apprehended shortly after. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 8500 block of Richmond Highway, 07/15/16, 8:09 p.m. A man entered the grocery store and stood by the cashier. The suspect then reached over and grabbed money from the cash register and fled. The suspect was described as black, 18 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches, and 130 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt and grey pants.

PURSUIT: Chain Bridge Road / Rt. 267, 07/15/16, 1:32 p.m. An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The suspect fled on to eastbound Dulles Access Road where the driver proceeded to lose control. The vehicle became disabled on the Dulles Access Road near Magarity Road. The suspect was apprehended and treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. Alton B Garbla, 28, of Bowie, Maryland, was charged with assault on law enforcement and felony speed to elude. After further investigation, Garbla was additionally charged with forging a bank note, uttering of a bad check, and obtaining money by false pretenses.

SEX OFFENSE: 5100 block of Leesburg Pike, 07/16/16, 4:34 p.m. The victim was in the store shopping when a man looked under her skirt and fled. The suspect was described as Hispanic, 40-years-old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, and 160 to 200 pounds.

BURGLARY: 9300 block of Arnon Chapel Road, 07/16/16, 11:51 a.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE: 10200 block of Old Colchester Road, 07/17/16, 10:09 p.m. Police are investigating an accidental discharge. A 73-year-old man discharged one round after mishandling his pistol. He was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Possible charges pending.
BURGLARY: 9000 block of Marie Court, 07/17/16, 3:52 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

PURSUIT: Rt. 28 / Space Museum Pkwy, 07/18/16, 12:22 a.m. A lookout was given for a suspicious vehicle in the area. It was also determined that a felony warrant was associated with this vehicle. An officer located vehicle and the driver drove away. A Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) was utilized and disabled the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
BURGLARY: 3100 block of Nestlewood Drive, 07/15/16, 4:40 a.m. A resident reported someone entered his vehicle and took property. The suspect then entered the garage to the residence and fled once the alarm was activated. The suspect was described as white, 15 to 20 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and 150 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts, black hat, and carrying a backpack.
