BRANDISHING A FIREARM: 3300 block of Southgate Drive, 7/18/16, around 4:45 a.m. Police were dispatched to a report of a man brandishing a weapon. The investigation determined a 43-year-old woman was approached by a man trying to hide a gun behind his back. The victim immediately got into her car and left. The suspect was described as black, with a light complexion. He was around 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighed between 150 pounds to 185 pounds. He was wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt and blue jeans.

STOLEN VEHICLES:
2000 block of Chain Bridge Road, 2015 Chevrolet Suburban
ROBBERY/ARREST: 5900 block of Leesburg Pike, 7/18/16, around 6:30 p.m. Police arrested a man for allegedly robbing a 64-year-old man. An investigation determined the victim was walking in the area when the suspect asked him for money. When the victim declined, the suspect allegedly assaulted him. The victim attempted to walk away but the suspect followed, assaulted him again and took his sunglasses. Police took the suspect into custody and transported him to jail. Luis A. Valdez, 59, of Alexandria, was charged with robbery and drunk in public. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

BURGLARY: 13600 block of Legacy Circle, 7/18/16, between 10 a.m. and 7:25 p.m. Someone forced entry into a home and stole portable electronics and other property from inside.
ROBBERY: 13100 Parcher Avenue, 7/18/16, around 7:19 p.m. Police were dispatched to the 7-Eleven, at 13190 Parcher Avenue, for a report of a robbery. A 20-year-old man was approached by a group of teenaged boys in the parking. The suspects allegedly punched and kicked the victim repeatedly, grabbed his backpack and fled. The suspects were described as Hispanic, wearing dark-colored clothing.
