An officer from the Operations Support Bureau conducted a grant funded DWI patrol last night. The officer issued eight traffic summonses and one warning.
There will be a sobriety checkpoint this Saturday, August 20, in the West Springfield District from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Please drive sober and stay safe.

ROBBERY: Buckman Road/Roxbury Place. 08/17/16, 10 a.m. The victim was walking home when she stopped to take a drink of water. A vehicle pulled up next to her and a man exited the vehicle. The suspect grabbed the victim by the arm, struck her in the head and shoved her to the ground. He took the victim’s purse and a bag of her groceries and fled in a white sedan. The victim sustained minor injuries. The suspect was described as black, 35 to 40 years old. He was wearing a white shirt and black pants.
BURGLARY: 3900 block of Woodhue Place. 08/17/16, 6:35 a.m. Two men were seen entering the home and carrying items out. A witnessed called police and provided a description. Patrol, K9, Fairfax 1 and detectives responded to the scene. The suspects were not located. They were not located. They were described as black males in their 20s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 160 to 180 pounds.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5700 block of Seminary Road. 08/17/16, 10:07 p.m. Two men entered the Shell gas station, displayed handguns and demanded money. They fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes and there were no injuries. The suspects were both described as black, and in their 20s. One was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a stocky build and dreadlocks. The other was about 6 feet 4 inches tall with a medium build.

BURGLARY: 13500 block of McLearen Road, 08/16/16, 5:37 a.m. A store employee reported that someone forced entry into the business. Nothing was taken and there is no suspect information.
