Officers from the Operations Support Bureau conducted grant-funded DWI patrols on Wednesday, August 31. Two arrests were made for DWI and 19 summonses were issued.

MISSILE INTO OCCUPIED DWELLING: 13900 block of Baton Rouge Ct, 09/01/16, 1:24 a.m. Residents were inside their townhouse when they heard what they thought was the sound of gunshots. Further investigation revealed that bullets struck the residence. There were no injuries. Detectives have reason to believe that this is not a random act. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY: 7100 block of Vantage Drive. 8/31/16, 3:45 a.m. A resident reported that someone entered the residence and took property. There is no suspect information.

SUSPICIOUS EVENT: 3400 block of Holly Road. 8/31/16, 10:29 a.m. The Consumer Reporting Agency was alerted to suspicious activity on a client’s credit card account. They subsequently contacted an employee of the Exxon gas station on Holly Road asking him to check the status of their gas pumps. In doing so, the employee found what is believed to be a “Skimming” device attached to one of the pumps. The police department was contacted and detectives from the Major Crimes Division, Financial Crimes Section are conducting an investigation.

TRESPASSING: 700 Bennett Street, Herndon High School. 8/31/16, 12:42 a.m. FCPS Security received multiple motion alarms from inside the school. Police patrol officers set up a perimeter around the outside of the school and a K9 team responded to check the inside of the building. A 17-year-old male was located inside the school and found to be in possession of a set of interior door keys to the school. He was placed under arrest. Fairfax County Fire Department rescue personnel responded to treat the juvenile for a dog bite. He was released to his parents. Criminal petitions are pending.
