Police Explorer (Youth) Program: Seeking New Recruits, Registration Only Happens Once a Year: Three informational meetings to be held at 7 p.m. on the following upcoming Mondays:
- September 19 at the Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy in Chantilly
- September 26 at Police Headquarters in Fairfax
- October 3 at West Potomac High School in Alexandria
Fairfax County Crime Solvers Case of the Month: Series of Shots Fired Into Vehicles and Dwelling
Virginia Department of Transportation will be milling and paving on Guinea Road, reducing it to one lane, alternating between Braddock Road and Route 236 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the next few weeks. Stay alert and follow officers’ direction. They will be in the work zone for safety.

UNLAWFUL ENTRY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/ARREST: 8500 block of Harvest Oak Drive, 9/16/16 around 3 a.m. Police arrested a man after he allegedly broke into home. An investigation determined the victim, a 42-year-old woman, heard someone in the basement and called police. Officers located the suspect inside and took him into custody. Irene Casto Chicas, 50, of Reston, was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with unlawful entry and destruction of property. The victim was not harmed.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
INDECENT EXPOSURE: 5000 block of Wakefield Chapel Road, 9/15/16 around 3:44 p.m. Police were called to a sex offense. An investigation determined a 63-year-old woman was walking in a park when she observed a man riding a bicycle through the park. The suspect had his shirt covering his face and he had no other clothes on. He was described as white, in his 40s, with brown hair and also had on a bike helmet.
