Man Dies From Electrocution While Painting

Mount Vernon Police District —  Officers responded to the 2800 block of Fairhaven Avenue, in the County portion of Alexandria, around 10:40 a.m. for a report of a man who had been electrocuted. A preliminary investigation determined Ervin Marenco Andasol, 36, from Alexandria, had been hired to paint an apartment complex. He moved a tall medal ladder from the side of a building to the rear of the building coming in contact with a high voltage power line. Marenco Andasol was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The next of kin was notified.

 Detectives from our Crime Scene Unit and Major Crimes Bureau responded to investigate. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) also responded.
