Juvenile Dies in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate yesterday’s fatal pedestrian crash in Bailey’s Crossroads.

At 8:57 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Columbia Pike and Tyler Street for the crash. Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit preliminarily determined the pedestrian was crossing Columbia Pike from Barcroft View Terrace and was within the crosswalk. The driver of a 2014 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Columbia Pike and struck the pedestrian. The driver remained on scene. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced deceased.

Detectives continue to investigate to determine whether speed was factor in the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The investigation remains active.
