Update: Man Arrested for April 4th Shooting in Groveton
Mount Vernon Police District – Yesterday morning, detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau with the assistance of our Special Operations Division, arrested Michael Ryan, 31, of Alexandria, for the April 4 shooting in Groveton.

Around 11:55 p.m. on April 4, officers responded to the 6300 block of South Kings Highway, Groveton for an adult man who was shot. Officers found the victim suffering from gunshots to the lower body. Officers provided medical aid until fire and rescue arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Through their investigation, detectives determined Ryan was in a shopping center parking lot with the victim when the two got into an argument. Ryan then shot the victim. On May 17, detectives took Ryan into custody and charged him with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was held on no bond.
