Teen Injured in Shooting Outside of Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Mason Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Annandale last night.

Yesterday, just before 8:00 p.m., officers responded to the 6500 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale after multiple calls for a shooting. Officers located a 14-year-old victim who was shot in the arm a short distance away. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

Preliminarily, detectives determined that the victim and another subject were standing outside Tropical Smoothie Cafe when the shooting occurred. Both the victim and subject ran a short distance away and called the police. No additional injuries resulting from the gunfire were reported. Detectives do not believe this was a random act of violence. The investigation is ongoing.
