Rideshare Driver Arrested After Sexually Assaulting Passenger

Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have arrested a rideshare driver after he sexually assaulted a passenger in Fair Lakes.

On August 10, at 11:47 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Route 50 and Fair Ridge Drive in Fair Lakes for a sexual assault report. The victim reported that she was sexually assaulted by a driver while inside a rideshare vehicle. The victim was able to flee and call the police. The suspect fled the area before police arrived.

Detectives identified the suspect as Sayed Cheshty, 47, of Fairfax. On November 15, Cheshty was arrested and charged with Object Sexual Penetration. Cheshty is currently being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
