Spotting Crime, Not Weights – Gym Larceny Spree Ends in Arrest

Fairfax County, VA — Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division have arrested a man in connection to a recent string of gym larcenies in Fairfax County.

Between December 1 and December 16, 2024, officers received seven reports of larcenies from commercial gyms. In these cases, the victims had their gym lockers forced open and personal property stolen.  Following the thefts, the victims’ credit cards were used fraudulently at nearby locations.

After a thorough investigation, detectives identified and linked Robert Brockington, 49, of Springfield, as the suspect in all seven larcenies.

Detectives obtained charges for Credit Card Theft, ID Fraud, Petit Larceny, and Misdemeanor Destruction of Property. On January 21, 2025, Brockington was taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department and is awaiting extradition. A mugshot is not available at this time.
