Man Arrested After Attempted Abduction in Annandale

Mason Police District— Detectives from our Criminal Investigation Division have charged a man after he attempted to lure a child into a vehicle in Annandale.

On June 3, at 8:48 a.m., officers responded to the 3400 block of Hemlock Dr in Annandale for a suspicious person report. Officers learned while a child was waiting for the school bus near Wadsworth Court and Little River Turnpike, a man drove up in a Black Subaru and attempted to persuade the child to get into his vehicle.

The child ran to a trusted adult near the bus stop, who took a picture of the vehicle before it left the area. The victim was able to safely board the bus and report the incident to a school official later in the day, who then notified police.

Patrol officers and detectives responded and, with the assistance of the Real Time Crime Center, obtained security footage of the incident. Detectives identified Hugo Perez Soliz, 45, of Annadale as the suspect.

Perez Soliz was located in the area and taken into custody. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with Attempted Abduction. He is being held on no bond.
