UPDATE: Juvenile Suspect Arrested for Fatal Shooting in Hutchison
Reston Police District- Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have identified a juvenile male suspect responsible for last week’s homicide following a comprehensive investigation. Detectives obtained felony petitions for Second Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Shooting from a Vehicle for the juvenile, who was transported to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center where he was held on a detention order.
On October 15, at 9:31 p.m., officers responded to the 13000 block of Parcher Avenue in Hutchison for a call for a suspicious person. A community member reported that an unconscious man was lying on the ground, possibly injured or asleep. Officers responded and located an unresponsive juvenile male victim with a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was declared deceased at the scene. This does not appear to be a random act.
The investigation is ongoing.
Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim’s family is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.

Reston Police District -Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a homicide that occurred last night in Hutchison.
On October 15, at 9:31 p.m., officers responded to the 13000 block of Parcher Avenue in Hutchison for a call for a suspicious person. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of the victim’s death. Detectives continue to conduct interviews, collect video surveillance, and process evidence recovered from the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the fatal shooting.
