Maryland Man Arrested After Brandishing a Firearm Inside Springfield Town Center

Franconia Police District – Detectives have arrested a Maryland man for brandishing a firearm inside Springfield Town Center.

On January 17 at 7:04 p.m., detectives assigned to Springfield Town Center were notified of a possible weapon call in the 6600 block of Springfield Mall in Springfield. Patrol officers responded to assist. The complainant stated that a known suspect brandished a firearm inside a store after an argument. Officers cleared the mall and directed several businesses to shelter in place as a precaution.

Through their investigation, detectives determined there was no evidence of a weapon being discharged. Detectives quickly identified Dandre Mersier, 23, of Maryland, as the suspect and obtained a warrant for Brandishing of a Firearm.

On January 19, Mersier turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. The warrant was served, and he is currently being held without bond.
