Man Arrested for Sexual Assault in Woodlawn
Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives from our Sex Crimes Squad, with the assistance of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit (NPU) and patrol officers, swiftly arrested a man for the aggravated sexual battery of a juvenile in Woodlawn.
On June 16 at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the 8100 block of Fernlake Court for the report of a sexual assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that a 9-year-old boy was in a bathroom stall when an unknown male entered and inappropriately touched him.
Detectives from our Sex Crimes Squad responded to assume the investigation. Through a collaborative effort between detectives, Mount Vernon NPU, and patrol officers, Charles Vincent Jones II, 43, of Alexandria, was identified as the suspect.
On June 17, Jones was located and arrested in the 8000 block of Pantano Place in Woodlawn. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery and is currently being held on no bond.
