Detectives Release Composite Sketch from Attempted Abduction
West Springfield Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are asking for the community’s help to identify a suspect responsible for an attempted abduction and indecent exposure in Annandale.
On June 21, at approximately 1:40 p.m., officers responded to Wakefield Park located at 8100 Braddock Road in Annandale, for a report of an indecent exposure. A woman reported that she observed a man exposing his genitals as she was walking on the trail. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30-40 years old, approximately 5’6”, medium build, wearing a white shirt, dark pants, and a baseball hat.
While officers were responding to the indecent exposure, another call came in for an attempted abduction in the same park. A woman was riding her bicycle when a man stepped in front of her causing her to swerve around him and dismount her bike. The man attempted to pull her into the woods, but the victim pushed him and fled. The suspect continued to chase the victim and then fled the scene. Officers conducted a thorough search of the area but were unable to locate the man. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene.
Detectives believe that the same man is involved in both incidents. A composite sketch of the suspect can be seen below.

Victim specialists from our Major Crimes Bureau’s Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim is receiving appropriate resources and assistance.
