Mount Vernon District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Thursday evening in Hybla Valley.

On July 2 at approximately 7:45p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Richmond Highway and Dart Drive for reports of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary, CRU detectives determined that the driver of a 2026 Ford F-250 was turning right from Dart Drive onto northbound Richmond Highway.  Preliminarily, the adult female pedestrian was using a mobility device while crossing Dart Drive from north to south when she was struck by the Ford F-250.

The woman was transported to a local hospital in life-threatening condition and later pronounced deceased. Identification is being withheld pending next of kin notification. The driver of the Ford was uninjured and remained on scene.

Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
