Fairfax County, VA – In July, FCPD officers removed 63 impaired drivers and issued hundreds of traffic charges for unsafe driving as part of the Summer Crime Prevention Initiative, including 86 speeding charges, 96 reckless driving charges, 63 failure to obey highway signs charges, and 26 hands-free cellphone violations.
This year’s initiative was centered on reducing impaired driving and promoting safe driving behaviors. Officers from all eight district stations teamed up with our DWI Enforcement Squad, increasing enforcement efforts. They were strategically deployed based on crime analyst data to target high-risk areas.
