Fairfax County, VA –Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have charged three suspects in connection with a series of organized thefts targeting reptiles.
On May 21 at 7:00 p.m., officers responded to Petco located at 6612 Richmond Highway in Groveton regarding a larceny. The complainant reported that two suspects entered the business and stole four pythons from the reptile habitat.
Following this incident, additional similar thefts were reported, revealing a pattern of organized theft and an additional suspect was identified. Detectives from our CID took over the investigation and ultimately linked the suspects to multiple coordinated thefts throughout the region.

On August 6, CID detectives, with assistance from the Prince George’s County Police Department, Prince George’s County Animal Services Division, and Charles County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant in Capitol Heights, Maryland, and arrested one of the three suspects for their roles in the organized theft series.
DeSean Bagley, 31, of Maryland, was arrested and charged with two counts of Petit Larceny, Felony Larceny with Intent to Sell, and Felony Mask in Public. He is being held at the Prince George’s County Central Detention Facility while awaiting extradition back to Fairfax County. No mugshot is available at this time.
Xavier Igo, 21, of Maryland, was not present at the search warrant. Detectives arranged for Igo to turn himself in at the Mason District Station on August 8. He was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Petit Larceny. He was later released on an unsecured $1,000 bond. No mugshot is available at this time.
Detectives also obtained warrants for an adult female for two counts of Petit Larceny, two counts of Misdemeanors for Concealment of Goods, and Felony Larceny with Intent to Sell.
