Reston Police District- Detectives from our Child Abuse Squad have arrested a 61-year-old woman for assaulting a 3-year-old boy at a daycare facility in Reston.
On August 7, detectives responded to Bright Horizons Daycare, located at 11400 Commerce Park Drive in Reston, for a report of an assault. Detectives determined, Jaspal Bharaj, 61, of Reston, while employed as a teacher at the daycare, assaulted a child by pulling his hair, pushing his head into a basket, and pushing the child to the ground.
Detectives charged Bharaj with misdemeanor Assault and Battery. She was released on a summons. No mugshot is available.
Victim specialists from our Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure the victim receives appropriate resources and assistance.
