Fairfax County, VA – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have identified and charged a man in connection with the fatal stabbing that occurred on Monday in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in Great Falls.
Through meticulous investigative work, detectives identified Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, 19, of Maryland, as the man responsible for the homicide of Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston. Detectives determined that Puch had been stabbed multiple times and gasoline had been poured on her.
Our Fugitive Tracking and Apprehension Team coordinated with Prince George’s County Police Department and the United States Marshalls Service where we located and apprehended him in Lanham, MD.
Cedillos-Campos is being held at the Prince George’s County jail while awaiting extradition to Fairfax County where he faces a charge of Second-Degree Murder.

McLean Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau are investigating a homicide that occurred in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in the 8800 block of Georgetown Pike in Great Falls.
On August 17 at 6:43 a.m., officers responded to the park for the report of an unconscious woman lying in the parking lot near a 2011 Honda Civic. Officers arrived and located Carmen Lizet Puch, 42, of Reston, with trauma to the upper body. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide and Crime Scene detectives responded to assume the investigation. They determined the 2011 Honda Civic was registered to the victim. Detectives are working diligently to process evidence and identify a suspect. An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the victim’s cause and manner of death.
