Mount Vernon Police District – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division are seeking the community’s assistance to identify a suspect connected to a residential burglary and brandishing.
On August 29 at 7:34 p.m., officers responded to an apartment in the 3500 block of Robert E. Lee Place in Groveton for a burglary. The victim stated that an unknown man entered his apartment and brandished a firearm.
Preliminarily, detectives determined the suspect began making threats towards the victim while he was standing on his third-floor balcony. The man then climbed the exterior of the building, entered the victim’s apartment through the balcony and brandished a firearm.
The man fled the apartment before officers arrived. The victim was not injured.
