Shelter Celebrates Meow-loween
Get in the spirit of Halloween and come by the Animal Shelter for October month-long Meow-loween events.
The shelter is offering a reduced cost of half off of all adult (age 3 and up) cat adoptions throughout the month. Don’t be afraid to fall for one of the Shelter’s precocious orange tabbies or silky black cats; adoptees will receive a free bag of treats and goodies for new feline family members. Feline Fridays are another Shelter feature designed to promote cat adoptions this month; all adult cats are only $5 every Friday.
Learn about cat health and behavior at the Shelter each Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Cats, like people, have their own, unique personalities; the experts explain more about these curious, sensitive animals.
All are invited and encouraged to come to the Shelter anytime during the weekend of October 25-27 for fun times with the staff, volunteers and animals. All adoption fees on dogs and cats over age three will be waived on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be games, prizes and spooky, hands-on fun for families. Guinea pig and rabbit petting stations, a haunted cat condo decorating contest and trick-or-treat for shelter pets are just a few of the festive events planned.
Don’t miss out on the lively times at the Shelter this month. Listen to Animal Shelter Outreach and Communications Director Kristen Auerback describe October events. Follow the Shelter calendar to keep abreast of the latest Shelter happenings and learn more about Shelter programs and animal issues in Fairfax County.
