Barricade in the Tyson’s Corner Area
McLean Police District – Around 1:55 a.m. today, police responded to a complaint of loud music at an apartment in the 8300 block of Greensboro Drive. Upon arrival, a man inside the apartment threatened to shoot officers if they entered. During this exchange, officers began to smell something suspicious that possibly could have been a flammable liquid, so residents from several floors of the apartment building were relocated elsewhere. Residents not relocated were asked to shelter in place.
Around 9:30 a.m. officers smelled something that could have possibly been smoke, so they forced their way into the apartment and took the subject into custody. There was no active fire inside the apartment. Two dogs inside the apartment were taken by Animal Control Officers. There were no injuries but the subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
