UPDATE: Subway Burglary Cases Rise

 Police ask the public to remain vigilant and aware as the number of burglaries of Subway restaurants has increased to 15 incidents in Fairfax County.

The most recent incident was reported at around 4 a.m., Monday, April 28 at 8558 Lee Highway in the Merrifield area. Like the other cases, someone broke the front door, entered and stole cash.

 Dozens of Subway Stores Burglarized (4/8/14)

Police are seeking tips from the public regarding a series of burglaries from Subway sandwich shops across the region. Nine of the crimes occurred in Fairfax County; others have taken place in Alexandria and in Maryland jurisdictions.

The most recent burglary took place Monday, April 7 around 2 a.m. Someone broke the door to the restaurant, located at 8960 Burke Lake Road, and stole cash. The suspect is described as male, unknown race, wearing a light-colored hoodie and dark pants. The description is similar to 27 other Subway restaurant burglaries since November 2013.
