Sticky Traps Are Dangerous to Wildlife

Animal Control Officers routinely respond to calls for birds, snakes and other wildlife being caught in glue traps which are designed for nuisance rodents. These reports are more common in Spring and Summer. Recently, several chickadees were caught on the glue sheets, with deadly results. Update: Police Identify Annandale Homicide Victim

Homicide detectives identified the deceased in the April 2 homicide as Jose Ramirez Guardado, age 36. Update: Arrest Made in Annandale Death Investigation Investigation led police to charge Ubaldo Lopez Yanez, 31, with no fixed address, with murder. While the identity of the victim has yet to be determined, police believe the suspect and victim were known to each other.

Two CVS Pharmacies Robbed on Easter

Detectives are investigating two incidents of armed robberies involving CVS stores in Fairfax County on Sunday, April 5. The first incident occurred just after 4 p.m. at the CVS, 9009 Silverbrook Road in the Lorton area. A man approached the pharmacy, demanded a variety of drugs and revealed a pistol to the technician.
