Cruisers Struck During Weekend Pursuit

  Officers charged a 30-year-old, District of Columbia man, after a pursuit that began around 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, February 21. A 1996 Toyota sedan was observed with improper license plates and the driver was suspected of being under the influence. Multiple officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the driver ignored the officers’ orders to stop and fled.

UPDATE: Burglary/Assault Suspect Arrested

Officers of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Patrol Unit were in the area of Lockheed Boulevard and Richmond Highway around 11 p.m. on February 26 checking on leads to locate the wanted suspect in the recent burglary and sex assault. The officers, commonly referred to as the “Bike Team,” noticed a vehicle parked on a nearby service road with multiple people

Burglary /Assault Investigation in Mount Vernon Area

At around 3 a.m on Saturday, February 20, officers responded to a home in the 8400 block of Blankenship Street for the report of a burglary and assault. A 51-year-old woman was awakened by an unknown male intruder. The suspect threatened and sexually assaulted the victim and then fled. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
