UPDATE: Victim Fatally Struck by Train Identified

The victim has been identified as Reyhan Safoglu, of Burke. She was hiking yesterday with her 13-year-old cousin and 21-year-old brother. The investigation is ongoing and detectives are working closely with Reyhan’s family. Our School Liaison Commander is also working with the family and school officials to provide support, as needed. UPDATE: No Evidence of Gang Affiliation for Nabra Hassanen Murder Suspect

Homicide detectives investigating the murder of 17-year-old Nabra Hassanen looked into whether the suspect, Darwin Martinez Torres, is a gang member or affiliated with gangs, but have found no credible information to support any connection.
