Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Annandale

West Springfield Police District – Our Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives are currently investigating a fatal pedestrian collision.  A preliminary investigation revealed a 33-year-old man was hit shortly around 10:50 last night while sitting in the service road near 7611 Little River Turnpike.  The driver of a 2016 Toyota Highlander was traveling westbound on the service road when the crash occurred.  He stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.  Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors for the driver. Detectives believe alcohol may be a factor for the pedestrian.  At this point, no charges are expected. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.
