Sully District Station – Detectives have tentatively identified the body found in the woods near Little Rocky Run this morning as that of missing 61-year-old Brian Murphy, of Alexandria. A family member in Connecticut reported Mr. Murphy missing to the Hamden Police Department on October 24 after he did not attend church and show up for work here in Fairfax County for three days. We coordinated with Hamden Police Department to help find Mr. Murphy. Our search efforts narrowed down an area where our Search and Rescue Team discovered his body this morning around 9.  At this point we do not suspect foul play. 

We appreciate the help we received through social media shares and community members as we worked to find Brian Murphy.
