Fatal Single-Car Crash in Fairfax Station

West Springfield Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal single-car crash that occurred today in Fairfax Station. Officers responded around 12:57 p.m. to the 9800 block of Hampton Road for a crash involving a 1998 Volvo sedan. A preliminary investigation determined the Volvo was traveling eastbound on Hampton Road when the driver lost control and exited the roadway, striking two trees. The driver, Sharon Hudson, 68, of Fairfax Station was pronounced dead on scene. Hudson was the sole occupant. Detectives believe alcohol may be a factor.
