Reston Man Fatally Shot: Detectives Arrest Suspect <8 Hours Later
Reston Police District – Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau arrested a man in connection to yesterday’s fatal shooting in Reston.
Yesterday around 1:13 p.m., officers responded to the 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive in Reston for a shooting. Hyung Joon Choi, 31, of Reston, was found inside the gym, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition and was pronounced deceased. Immediately following the incident, the suspect was seen fleeing the gym.

Detectives swiftly identified Steve Taehee Ha, 43, of Chantilly as the suspect and took him into custody. He was charged with Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony. He was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held on no bond.
