Detectives Investigate Drowning in Chantilly
Fair Oaks Police District – Detectives from our Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating the drowning of two men after their vehicle was driven into a pond in Chantilly.
Today, at 7:25 a.m., officers responded to a drowning in the 3900 block of Centerview Drive in Chantilly. Officers quickly located a vehicle submerged in a pond. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department responded and recovered two adult males from the vehicle. The driver, Karna Khadka, 55, and passenger, Nischal Bhatta, 20, both of Chantilly, were declared deceased at the scene.
Preliminarily, detectives believe the vehicle was being operated in a private parking lot when it went over the curb and down a hill into the pond. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated.
