Third Time’s the Chomp: Road Shark Strikes Again

Fairfax County, VA – Wave 3 of the Fairfax County Police Department’s Road Shark traffic safety campaign wrapped up with impactful results. In partnership with the Virginia State Police (VSP), this high-visibility initiative continues to target aggressive driving behaviors, promote safer roads, and reduce traffic crashes.

Between June 16 and June 22, officers issued more than 8,433 citations and warnings, including over 514 speeding citations and 167 reckless driving citations. These numbers highlight the ongoing need for focused enforcement and driver accountability across Fairfax County.

The Road Shark campaign emphasizes coordinated, strategic enforcement efforts to deter dangerous driving. With increased patrols and visibility, both FCPD officers and VSP troopers are working to change driver behavior, improve public safety, and protect lives on our roads.

Thanks to the dedication of our officers and partners at VSP, Wave 3 made a measurable impact—and there’s more to come.

Wave 4 of Road Shark kicks off on August 4, 2025.
