Two Burglaries in Kings Park West Linked to Three Burglaries in Fairfax City
West Springfield Police District – Detectives from our Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of the City of Fairfax Police Department, have charged a man for two burglaries that occurred at a vape store near Kings Park West.
On June 26, at 4:28 a.m., officers responded to Star Tobacco at 10665 Braddock Road near Kings Park West for a commercial burglary alarm. The security company reported that an unknown suspect was captured on surveillance, breaking into the business and stealing Kratom products. The suspect then fled prior to police arrival.
On July 13, at 5:11 a.m., officers responded once again to the Star Tobacco for a commercial burglary alarm. Officers observed the business’ front door was broken and discovered someone entered the business and stole Kratom products. Detectives responded to assume the investigation.
During the investigation, detectives were contacted by the City of Fairfax Police who had three similar burglaries in their jurisdiction. Detectives believed all five burglaries were committed by the same suspect.

Through their investigation, detectives identified David Elliot, 23, of Fairfax as the suspect involved in the burglaries. On Friday, he was taken into custody at his home by City of Fairfax Police and FCPD detectives. Evidence of the burglaries was found inside his home.

Elliot was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with 5 counts of Burglary. He was later released on a $5,000 bond.
Vape stores across Fairfax County have become frequent targets in a wave of burglaries, with suspects stealing high-value items like vape pens and Kratom. Kratom, a controversial herbal product, is now a top item being stolen. Its misuse and resale pose growing risks to public safety, and those struggling with Kratom use are encouraged to seek help from a healthcare provider or addiction support services.
To combat these crimes, the Fairfax County Police Department launched its 2025 Summer Crime Prevention Initiative. The plan includes increased patrols, targeted enforcement at high-risk retail areas, and collaboration with local businesses. Officers are focusing on preventing thefts before they happen. Residents and store owners are urged to report suspicious activity and register their security cameras with the FCPD.
