Road Shark Wave 4 Reels in Impressive Results
Fairfax County, VA – Wave 4 of the Fairfax County Police Department’s Road Shark traffic safety campaign concluded with strong results. In partnership with the Virginia State Police, this high-visibility effort continues to crack down on aggressive driving, promote safer roads, and prevent crashes.

Between August 4 and August 10, officers issued more than 12,700 citations and warnings, to include over 750 speeding citations and 244 reckless driving citations. These numbers highlight the ongoing need for focused enforcement and driver accountability across Fairfax County.

The Road Shark campaign emphasizes coordinated, strategic enforcement efforts to deter dangerous driving. With increased patrols and visibility, both FCPD officers and VSP troopers are working to change driver behavior, improve public safety, and protect lives on our roads.
Thanks to the dedication of our officers and partners at VSP, Wave 4 made a measurable impact—and there’s more to come.
Wave 5 of Road Shark kicks off on October 13.
