McLean Police District –Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureaus have arrested a Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) teacher for having inappropriate contact with a student.
On June 4, the school administrators at Cooper Middle School were notified of concerns regarding inappropriate behavior involving a teacher. Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad were notified and assumed the investigation.
Detectives determined that Eliseo Perez, 35, of King George, a Special Education teacher at Cooper Middle School, engaged in unlawful and inappropriate contact with a student on two occasions in May of 2026.
Today, Perez turned himself in and was charged with two counts of Simple Assault. He was held on a $4,000 bond.
Perez was placed on administrative leave once the school was made aware of the allegations and is now suspended without pay. He has been employed with FCPS as a teacher since 2025.
Victim specialists from our Victim Services Division have been assigned to ensure that the victim receives appropriate resources and assistance.
