Police Investigate Pedestrian Fatal, Hit and Run Crash in Burke Area

Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the area of Capella Avenue and Shiplett Boulevard on Thursday, May 12. An investigation determined a 33-year-old man was sitting on a curb in the 6100 block of Shiplett Boulevard, in Burke, just before 9 p.m. and for unknown reasons, got up and stumbled into the eastbound lane of Shiplett Boulevard.

Police Investigate Series of Tire and Rim Thefts; Seek Public’s Assistance

Since February, there have been 10 incidents of tires and wheels stolen from 11 GMC or Chevrolet model vehicles in the Herndon, Chantilly, Fairfax and Vienna areas.
