UPDATE: Corrected information; Police & Fire Work Together to Nab Playground Arsonists

Police and Fire personnel responded to a playground on fire yesterday, March 16 around 5:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of Fenestra Court in Burke. An alert resident called to provide us with the description of the two suspicious people seen in the area. After the fire was extinguished, officers and a K9 began their search for the suspects responsible.

Update: Mercado Burglary Suspect Arrested

After much hard work, on March 8, detectives at the Mount Vernon District Police Station executed a search warrant at a local residence and found evidence from the initial burglary. Police Seek Identification of Larceny & Credit Card Fraud Suspect

Police are investigating a larceny that occurred at the Springfield Volkswagen Dealership located at 6601  Backlick Road, in Springfield, on Monday, February 1.  Sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 10:05 a.m. the victim left her purse in an office and returned to find her wallet along with other personal items stolen.  The victim’s credit cards were used a short time later at nearby
