Pedestrian Identified – Update to Pedestrian Struck and Killed

Franconia Police District – Detectives have confirmed the victim of the fatal crash is Juliana Hudson-Nichols, 35, of no fixed address. The next of kin has been notified.

Franconia Police District – Fairfax County Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place on Franconia Road near the on-ramp for I395/I95 just before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9. Preliminary investigation reveals that an adult woman was crossing Franconia Road, not in a crosswalk, when a 2002 Ford pickup truck struck and killed the pedestrian.

Detectives are still working on confirming the identity of the woman and notifying next of kin. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors on the part of the driver.

The crash is under investigation by Crash Reconstruction Unit detectives.
