Series of Fondling Incidents in Shopping Areas
Police are seeking tips from the public regarding a series of fondling incidents that took place between March 22 and April 19 in the Bailey’s Crossroads area of Fairfax County. The suspect acts quickly and victims have been unable to identify many details, however due to the high density population along the busy Route 7 and 50 corridor, detectives believe there may be witnesses who haven’t come forward.
Detectives believe a male suspect may be responsible for seven forcible fondling incidents, taking place in busy shopping centers in the area. The suspect approaches victims from behind, fondles and grabs the buttocks or crotch area and flees. None of the victims have been physically injured and there are no words exchanged. The incidents occur in the afternoon or early evening, between 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Victims are all female, between the ages of 20 and 40.
