Fairfax County Police Department News

The largest major road still closed is Route 1 between Telegraph Road and the Fairfax County Parkway. It is closed in both directions due to a significant amount of water flowing across the road.  Motorists traveling northbound toward Fort Belvoir will need to take I-95 to Fairfax County Parkway and then make the left onto Route 1.
The following roads are still closed due to flooding:

Sully Police District:

Old Lee Road between Braddock Road and Stonecroft Boulevard
Chapel Road and Sangsters
Clifton Creek Road and Main Street
Ordway Road and Prince William County line

Mount Vernon Police District:

Old Mill Road and Dogue Drive
Rt. 1 at Fairfax County Parkway

McLean Police District:

Balls Hill Road at Old Dominion Drive (one lane open)
Towlston between Rt. 193 and Old Dominion
Beulah Road between Cinnamon Creek and Mill Race
Bellview between Towlston and Old Dominion

Reston Police District:

Browns Mill Road at Rosewood Hill Drive
Leigh Mill Road at Kelso Road

Franconia Police District:

Route 1 northbound at Telegraph Road

West Springfield Police District:

Burke Lake Road between Missionary Lane and Jeremiah Court

Fair Oaks Police District:

Lawyers Road (one lane) between Whipperpool Road and Galloping Way

Please expect a longer commute today. Follow police direction and do not attempt to cross a road overrun with water.
