CHECKPOINT, 6000 block of North Kings Highway, 12/19/14. Officers conducted a DWI checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. Six-hundred-ninety-nine vehicles passed through. One driver was charged with DWI. Three summonses were issued and one criminal arrest was made.
BURGLARY, 15200 block of Compton Road, 12/19/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.
BURGLARY, 6100 block of Redwood Square Center, 12/19/14. An employee reported someone entered the business and took property.
BURGLARY, 14100 block of Lotus Lane, 12/20/14. A resident reported someone entered the residence and took property.

ROBBERY, 7800 block of Belford Drive, 12/19/14, 12:30 a.m. The victim was sitting and was approached by a man. The suspect displayed a handgun and assaulted the victim. The suspect took property and fled on foot. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect was described as black, 20s, and between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall.
ASSAULT ON POLICE, 8300 block of Richmond Highway, 12/20/14, 3:54 a.m. A police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the driver stopped his vehicle in the middle of a travel lane. The driver exited his vehicle and assaulted the officer. Other responding officers were able to take the suspect into custody. Awot Tsehaye Negash, 34, of the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, possession of drugs and driving under the influence. Two officers were treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

ASSAULT ON POLICE, 8000 block of Tysons Corner Center, 12/21/14, 12:02 a.m. In the process of being arrested for shoplifting, the suspect resisted arrest and assaulted a police officer. Jonah Smith, 40, of Falls Church, was charged with assault on a police officer, grand larceny and resisting arrest. The officer was treated on the scene for a non-life threatening injury.

ROBBERY, 3400 block of Charles Street, 12/20/14, 8:53 p.m. The victim was in a parking lot and was approached by a man. The suspect displayed a knife, took property and fled on foot. There were no injuries. The suspect was described as Hispanic and about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
