Death Investigation in the Mount Vernon Area

Police are investigating the death of a man believed to be in his 30s. Officers were called to a wooded area in the 7500 block of Vernon Square Drive around 1:27 p.m. on Friday, February 13, for the report of an unresponsive male in the woods.
Officers located the man and determined he was deceased. He was found about eight feet down in a drainage ditch. His name is being withheld pending positive identification by the medical examiner’s office.
This investigation is ongoing. The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
